Today, the NSS unit affiliated with Dr. Vasant Parikh Ayurvedic Medical College celebrated the Har Ghar Tiranga programme with great enthusiasm. To make this programme meaningful, volunteers presented various performances including collective singing of Vande Mataram, speeches, dances, song presentations, drama, acrobatics, and poster presentations. Yoga Sangam event was conducted on 21/06/2026 from 6:30 am to 8:00 am in the college campus. Staff and students of our institution practised the Common Yoga Protocol with great enthusiasm under the guidance of Mr Vijay Chauhan, Yoga Instructor. Around 50 participants, including Faculty Members, Non- Teaching Staff & Students participated in the event.

With the purpose of imparting training to the staff and students on CYP, one week yoga session was conducted by Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga from 15/06/2026 to 20/06/2026 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The sessions were led by Mr Krushnarajsinh Rajput, Yoga Instructor. Faculty members and students actively participated in the sessions and experienced the benefits of regular yoga practice.

The event was a success with active participation of Second Professional B.A.M.S. students. Out of 24 teams, First & Second-best posters were selected through a stringent assessment process by the judges, Dr Balendu V Krishnan, Associate Professor, Department of Kayachikitsa, Dr Madhushri Hippalgove, Associate Professor, Department of Samhita, Siddhanta and Sanskrit and Dr Anu Sreedevi, Associate Professor and HOD In-charge, Department of Dravyagunavigyan. Theme: “Solid Habits, Stronger Liver
Vadnagar, 21 April 2026: On the occasion of World Liver Day 2026, observed with the awareness slogan **“Solid Habits, Stronger Liver!”**, the Department of Kayachikitsa at Dr. Vasant Parikh Ayurvedic Medical College, Vadnagar, organized a Patient Awareness Poster Presentation Activity at the hospital campus to spread awareness about liver health, liver disease prevention, and Ayurvedic management among OPD and IPD patients, their relatives, and hospital staff.
The program was conducted under the guidance of the Department of Kayachikitsa with the permission of the respected Principal and in accordance with the academic calendar. The event aimed to educate the public regarding liver care, early symptoms of liver disorders, healthy dietary practices, and the preventive as well as therapeutic role of Ayurveda in maintaining liver health. The slogan **“Solid Habits, Stronger Liver!”** emphasized that disciplined lifestyle, nutritious food choices, regular exercise, and avoidance of harmful habits are essential for protecting liver health.
Academic guidance for the event was provided by Dr. Jyoti Jangid, Associate Professor, and Dr. Vishal D. Mori, Assistant Professor, Department of Kayachikitsa. Five important topics related to liver and abdominal disorders were selected for public education, including Liver Parenchymal Disease, Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Liver Disease, Prevention from Liver Disease, Udararoga in Ayurveda, and Jalodara (Ascites).
Final-year BAMS students actively participated in this awareness initiative through group poster presentations. Students explained liver diseases in simple language, promoted healthy diet and lifestyle, highlighted harmful habits affecting liver health, and shared Ayurvedic preventive and treatment approaches with patients and staff across OPD, IPD, and hospital premises.

Description - On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Cultural Committee of VPAMC, Vadnagar organized a joyful celebration to honor and appreciate the valuable contributions of the lady teaching staff of our institution.
The celebration began with a surprise gift sharing, where handmade greeting cards and small tokens of appreciation were presented to all the female teaching staff as a gesture of gratitude for their dedication and inspiring role in academics and student mentorship.
The program continued with a lively entertainment segment, including a fun Dumb charades performance, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone present. This was followed by a thought-sharing session, where participants expressed their views on women’s strength, achievements, and the importance of mutual support.

The event concluded with snacks and informal interaction, making the gathering warm, cheerful, and memorable for all.The celebration reflected the spirit of respect, appreciation, and empowerment of women, who continue to inspire with their strength, dedication, and leadership.

Description - Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga organized AYURJEEVANAM 2026- Train –the –Trainer Workshop on 31/01/2026. The workshop aimed at imparting the training in designing personalized protocols for prevention and management of Non- Communicable Diseases based on principles of Ayurveda. Inaugural session started with the Lamp Lighting ceremony followed by Welcome Speech by Dr Vikas Karthik, Professor (Dept of Swasthavritta & Yoga) & Vice Principal. Dr Veena G Kanthi, Professor & HOD (Department of Rasashastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana), delivered the Presidential Address as the Principal In-charge. Dr Charmi Thakkar, Trustee, Karuna Setu Trust graced the occasion addressing the gathering as the Guest of Honour. Keynote address was delivered by Dr Deepty Nair, Professor & HOD, Dept of Swasthavritta & Yoga.
Scientific session included Screening for NCD using standardized questionnaires for Assessment of the risk for Non Communicable Diseases and Prakruthi Assessment. Session on Application of Ayurvedic Dietetics in Non Communicable DiseasesScreening for NCD by Dr Rohit Bhatt, Associate Professor & HOD, Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga, Pioneer Ayurvedic College & Hospital, Vadodara with live demonstration of preparation of Laja Paanakam and Khalam. Session on Yoga: A Lifestyle intervention for Non Communicable Diseases by Dr Rohith Kumar G, Assistant Professor, Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga, Noble Ayurved College & Research Institute, Junagarh with practical demonstration of Yogasanas and Meditative practices. Session on Designing an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Protocol for Non Communicable Diseases by Dr Deepty Nair, Professor & HOD, Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga, Dr Vasant Parikh Ayurvedic Medical College, Vadnagar including practical demonstration of Dinacharya Practices with active participation of the delegates.
In the Valedictory session participants shared their feedbacks about the content and conduct of the Workshop. This was followed by certificate distribution. Description - Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga conducted the 5 days Pratham Yoga & Nisargopachara Shibir during 19/01/2026 to 23/01/2026 as instructed by the Gujarat Ayurved University. IInd Professional B.A.M.S.(2023-24 batch) students participated in the Shibir which included training in Basic & Advanced Yogasana, Yogic Shudhikriya, Pranayama, Bandha and Nisargopachara modalities like Mud Therapy, Hydrotherapy (Baths & Packs), Heliotherapy, Exercise, Massage & Relaxation therapy. (No. G.A.U./N.S.S./2025-26/4256 dated 30/12/2025), through the Principal’s Office, Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga organized the “SURYA NAMASKAR DHYAAN SATRA” as a part of the campaign conducted by the Gujarat State Yog Board on 01/01/2026 from 7:00 am to 8:00 am in the Yoga Hall of Dr Vasant Parikh Ayurvedic Medical College. The session was led by Mr Vijaysinh Chauhan, Yoga Trainer, Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga. The programme was co-ordinated by Dr Deepty Nair, Professor & Head, Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga and supported by the NSS co-ordinator, Dr Jatin Purkha, Assistant Professor, Department of Samhita, Siddhanta & Sanskrit. Description - To observe the Meditation day 2025, Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga, organized Meditation camp for the IPD patients & by-standers of teaching hospital of Dr Vasant Parikh Ayurvedic Medical College on 20/12/25 during 8:00 to 9:00 am. The session was led by Dr Satish, Assistant Prof, Dept of Swasthavritta & Yoga, and assisted by Mr Vijay Chauhan (Yoga Instructor). The team gave a brief introduction about importance of Meditation in physical & mental health promotion and conducted Focused Attention Meditation and Guided Meditation sessions. 32 participants were benefitted from the session.

Description - Description : Department of Agad Tantra evam Vidhi vaidhyaka of Dr Vasanth Parikh Ayurvedic Medical College has arranged one day Court Visit to Civil court , Vadnagar for the students of Second Professional Bams (Batch 23-24) as per their curriculum to get an idea and awareness about the legal procedures.

Description - As a part of IInd Prof B.A.M.S. curriculum, educational visit was organized by Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga for 2022-23 batch at Sewage Treatment Plant functioning within the college campus on 07/10/2025. The students were accompanied by Dr Deepty Nair, Professor & Head and Dr Satish B, Assistant Professor (Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga). Mr Vijaybhai Chaudhary, Plant Operator of the STP briefly explained about the overall working of the STP. Students observed the details of collection of sewage water, chemical treatment and effluent outlet at the plant.

Description - As a part of IInd Prof B.A.M.S. curriculum, educational visit was organized by Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga for 2022-23 batch at Government Ayurveda Dispensary, Vadnagar on 07/10/2025. The students accompanied by Dr Deepty Nair, Professor & Head and Dr Satish B, Assistant Professor (Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga) started from campus at 2:15 pm reached the GAD at 2:30 pm. Dr Amit Vaghela, Medical Officer of the GAD briefly explained about the overall structure, staff and services available at the GAD. Students visited the OPD premises and Pharmacy and functioning.

Description - As a part of IInd Prof B.A.M.S. curriculum, educational visit was organized by Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga for 2022-23 batch at Primary Health Centre, Chabaliya on 06/10/2025. The students accompanied by Dr Deepty Nair, Professor & Head and Dr Satish B, Assistant Professor (Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga) started from campus at 9:40 am reached the PHC at 9:50 am. Dr Shailesh Shah, Medical Officer In-charge of the PHC briefly explained about the overall structure, staff and services available at the PHC. Students visited the OPD premises, ward, Pharmacy, Laboratory and Immunization room at the PHC and observed the details of Medical services including ANC, NCD clinic, emergency services like ORS and TT vaccination, Family planning methods and storage and distribution of Vaccines included under National Immunization schedule to nearby villages.

Description - On the occasion of 10th Ayurveda Day, Department of Rognidan and VikrutiVigyan conducted Hrudroga screening camp at Dr. Vasant PrabhaAyurvedic Hospital on 23rd September 2025. The camp was started around 9.30 am with registration of the patients for the camp. Their short history was taken with general examination. Followed by blood and urine sample collection. Then ECG was done for the patients. Total 103 patients were benefited in the camp. Patients were advised for do’s and don’ts of healthy lifestyle for heart health. Students had hands-on experience about laboratory testing procedures and ECG.

 Department of Rasashastra&BhaishajyaKalpana presented common Ayurvedic formulations with nutraceutical benefits.
 Department of Rognidan explained the signs and symptoms of common clinical ailments through working models.

 Department of KriyaSharirconducted Prakruthi Assessment Camp.
Staff and students from Ratnaprabha Nursing College and Primary School, Shekhpur visited the exhibition. Around 250 visitors benefitted from the event.

Description - On 23/09/2025, around 100 students of Ratnaprabha Nursing College and 50 students of Primary School, Shekhpur visited our institution. Students visited all the departments and were oriented by the respective faculties through explanatory charts and models.

Description - On 23/09/2025, Department of Kaumarabhritya organised an interactive session for 3rd Prof BAMS students on the topic “A Glimpse on Vitamin Deficiency” from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. The session was led by Dr Deepty Nair, Professor & Head, Department of Swasthavritta& Yoga exploring the clinical applications of Vitamin deficiency including the clinical presentations of Vitamin deficiencies and their management.

Description - On the occasion of 10th Ayurveda Day, Department of Kayachikitsa and Department of Swasthavritta& Yoga jointly organized free medical camp at Umta Village on 22/10/2025 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The camp was led by DrDeepty Nair, Professor & Head (Dept ofSwasthavritta& Yoga) and DrTusharJani, Asst Prof (Department of Kayachikitsa) and was assisted by DrYash&Dr Jenny, Medical Officers. The camp included free consultation & medicine distribution and diet consultation and 122 people benefitted from the camp.

Description - As a part of celebrating 10th Ayurveda Day, Department of Swasthavritta& Yoga conducted a 2 day Wellness camp at the Yoga Hall, Hospital Building of attached teaching hospital on 22/09/2025 & 23/09/2025. The camp was led by Dr Satish, Asst Professor, Department of Swasthavritta& Yoga who provided training to the participants on basic yoga practices including SookshmaVayayama, Asana, Pranayama and Meditation. 30 participants from nearby villages benefitted from the camp.

Description - On the occasion of 10th Ayurveda Day, Public Health Awareness Talk was delivered by DrRoshaniPrajapati , Asst Professor, Dept of Samhita, Sidhanta& Sanskrit on the topic “ Ayurveda for Health” including the principles of Dinacharya, Ritucharya, Ayurveda Aharaetc at Ratnaprabha Nursing College, Vadnagar on 22/09/2025. Around 130 staff & students benefitted from the talk.

Description - On the occasion of 10th Ayurveda Day, Public Health Awareness Talk was delivered by DrTusharJani, Asst Professor, Dept of Kayachikitsa on the topic “ Ayurveda for Health” including the principles of Dinacharya, Ritucharya, Ayurveda Aharaetc at Umta Village on 22/09/2025. Around 50 people benefitted from the talk.

Description - With an aim to spread awareness on Ayurveda, NSS unit of our institution conducted a Rally. 80 students, under the guidance of DrJatinPurkha, NSS co-ordinator, started the rally from the college campus at 10 am on 22/09/2025 to Shekhpur village. The students interacted with the villagers and educated them about the Ayurveda principles of health promotion.

Description - With an aim to spread awareness on Ayurvedic Principles of holistic living including Dinacharya, Ritucharya, PathyaAhara, Sadvrutta, Vega and Menstrual Hygiene 2nd Prof BAMS students, under the guidance of Extracurricular & co-curricular committee, presented street play at Shekhpur Village on 22/09/2025. 17 students participated in this informative event benefiting the villagers.

Description - • The Department of Swasthavritta and Yoga organized a field visit for 2nd BAMS students from 07/07/2025 to 11/07/2025.
• The visit was conducted in collaboration with Dravyaguna, RSBK, and Agada Tantra departments.
• Day 1: Divine Naturopathy and Yoga Institute, Gandhinagar – students learned about yoga and naturopathy therapies.
• Day 2: Success Water Treatment Plant, Ahmedabad – students observed water purification and hygiene practices.
• Day 3: Reserved for departmental visits of Dravyaguna and RSBK.
• Day 4: Amul Dairy, Anand – students studied dairy processing, hygiene standards, pasteurization techniques, and food preservation methods.
• Day 5: Visit to the Statue of Unity, concluding the field trip with cultural exposure.
• The program provided practical learning, public health awareness, and enthusiastic student participation.

Description - As a part of celebrating 10th Ayurveda Day, Department of Swasthavritta& Yoga conducted a session on Yoga and Meditation for 2nd Prof BAMS students on 18/09/2025 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The session was led by DrDeepty Nair, Professor & Head, Dept of Swasthavritta& Yoga who guided the students in performing sookshmavyayama, Yogasana, Pranayama and Shavasana meditation. 70 students participated in the session.

Description - Description : Department of Agad Tantra evam vidhi vaidhyaka of Dr Vasanth Parikh Ayurvedic Medical college has arranged a casualty department visit at GMERS, Vadnagar to the students of second professional BAMS (Batch 2023-24) as per their course curriculum to get an idea about the emergency management.

Description - As a part of Student Wellness Program, Department of Swasthavritta& Yoga organized 2 sessions on Ayurvedic Diet Demonstration for 2nd Prof BAMS Students.
1. On 17/09/2025, DrDeepty Nair, Professor & Head, Dept of Swasthavritta& Yoga, conducted a session on “AharaDravyaParichayam” in which Ayurvedic properties, action, health effects and clinical application of commonly available food articles were critically discussed.
2. On 23/09/2025, Dr Satish, Asst Professor, Dept of Swasthavritta& Yoga, conducted a session on “PathyaAhaaraKalpana” demonstrating the preparation of classical Ayurvedic recipes and also discussed their indications and benefits.

Description - Department of Kaumarbhritya celebrated World Breastfeeding Week- 2025 with great zeal and enthusiasm. Various events were organized during 1/08/2025 to 7/08/2025 aligning with the theme ‘Prioritize breastfeeding: Create sustainable support system’ benefitting the students, staff and also common mass. Various competitions and Anganwadi visit were organized by Department of Kaumarbhritya: Essay competition, Slogan competition, Reel competition, Poster Competition, Quiz competition and a guest lecture from 1-08-2025 to 7-08-2025. All staff & students enthusiastically participated in these sessions, followed by closing ceremony and prize distribution to the winning students.

Department of Swasthavritta& Yoga organized practice session on Common Yoga Protocol for all staff & students of the institution on 19/06/2025 and 20/6/2025 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. All staff & students enthusiastically participated in these sessions.

Description - on the occasion of world environment day 05/06/2025, Drvagun Department & NSS unit of Dr.Vasant Parikh Ayurvedic Medical College, Vadnagar* jointly organised various activities like Clining Drive , Tree plantation , PPT Presentation etc. Swacchta activity was performed at UNESCO* listed Heritage Sites of Vadnagar like KIRTI TORAN & TANA RIRI* under the theme of *Beat Plastic Pollutions as well as *Tree plantation * & indoor Activities were carried out at college campus by NSS Volunteers with all teaching staff.

On the occsaion of World Environment Day, celebrated globally on 5th June 2025 , the Department of Dravyaguna vigyana at Dr.Vasant Parikh Ayurvedic Medical College organized a plantation event aimed at promoting environmental awareness and sustainability.
The event saw active participation from faculty members, students, and non-teaching staff.
Activities Conducted:
1. Tree Plantation around the campus:
A campus wide tree plantation activity was conducted, wherein faculty members, students, and non-teaching staff enthusiastically participated.
Various native and shade-giving species were planted in designated areas around the college premises.
2. Medicinal plant plantation at hospital building:
A special initiative was undertaken to plant a variety of medicinal plants in the garden space adjoining the hospital building. Creeper, Herb, and shrub variety of species such as Guduci, Madukaparni, Satavari, Citraka and others were planted.
This plantation aims to serve both as a therapeutic garden and an educational resource for patients and students alike.
Outcome: A significant number of trees and medicinal plants were successfully planted.

Description - As a part of celebratingWorld Health Day 2025& 4th Anniversary of AahaarKranti(an initiation of GIST), Department of Swasthavritta& Yogaand Department of Rasashastra&Bhaishajyakalpanaorganized afood fest. 2nd Professional B.A.M.S. students prepared traditional Indian recipes aligning with the focal theme “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures – focusing on Maternal & Newborn Health”. All staff and students of the institution visited food stallswhich also had displayed charts detailing the method of preparation and nutritional benefits of the prepared recipes.

Description - On occasion of world Tuberculosis Day, we conducted Poster Presentation Competition for our Student in our esteemed Dr. Vasant Parikh Ayurvedic Medical College, Vadnagar. The theme given was “ yes we can end T.B Commit invest deliver”. Description - As a symbol of recognition and respect to the Women, International Women’s Day 2025 was celebrated with fun and frolic at Dr Vasant Parikh Ayurvedic Medical College, Vadnagar on 10/03/2025 (Monday) from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the auditorium.
Presided by the Principal, Dr Manish S. Lodha, the event started with lighting the lamp ceremony followed by the welcome address by DrMadhushri, Associate Professor, Dept of Samhita, Siddhanta& Sanskrit. DrVeena G Kanthi, Professor & Head, Dept of Rasashastra&BhaishajyaKalpana addressed the gathering with her enlightening words. DrKishti Thakkar, Managing Director and DrCharmi Thakkar, Head, Dept of Ophthalmology, Dr Vasant Prabha Multi Specialty Hospital, Vadnagargraced the occasion as the Guests of Honour. DrKishti Thakkarmotivated the staff and students with her words highlighting the role of woman in family and society. Cultural performances of the B.A.M.S. students added colors to the celebrations. The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by DrThulya Mohandas, Professor & Head, Dept of Kayachikitsa.

Description - On 3rd January 2025, a field visit was organized by the Department of Rachana Sharir, Dr. Vasant Parikh Ayurvedic Medical College, for the First Professional BAMS students of the 2023-24 batch. The visit was conducted at the Anatomy Department of GMERS Medical College, Vadnagar, and was accompanied by faculty members Dr. Aneesh T and Dr. Bhavya Rathava.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to explore various facilities within the Anatomy Department. The Anatomy Museum provided a comprehensive display of anatomical specimens, models, and charts, offering valuable insights into the structure and function of the human body.

Description - On 17th October 2024, the Department of Rachana Sharir at Dr. Vasant Parikh Ayurvedic Medical College successfully organized a series of competitions to celebrate World Anatomy Day-2024, with the theme "Anatomy in Motion". The event aimed to foster academic enthusiasm and creativity among the First Professional BAMS students and was a resounding success.

આ કાર્યક્રમનું આયોજન કોલેજના રચનાશરી વિભાગ અને નશામુક્તિ યુનિટ દ્વારા કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. કાર્યક્રમની થીમ યુઝ હાર્ટ ફોર એક્શન રાખવામાં આવી હતી જેમાં કોલેજના અધ્યાપકો તથા વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ ઉત્સાહપૂર્વક ભાગ લીધો હતો જેમાં વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ હાર્ટ વિશેની માહિતી તથા તેમજ થતા રોગો અને રોગો થવાના કારણો અને ચિકિત્સા ની માહિતી આપવામાં આવી હતી જેમાં નશામુક્ત યુનિટ દ્વારા નોડલ ઓફિસર ડોક્ટર સચ્ચિદાનંદ વગપાટીએ કૃમિજ હૃદય રોગ ની માહિતી આપી યુવા પેઢીને બીડી સિગરેટ તમાકુથી દૂર રહેવાની જોગવાઈ કરી હતી જેમાં કયા ચિકિત્સાના આસિસ્ટન્ટ પ્રોફેસર ડોક્ટર વિશાલ મોરી એ હૃદય રોગ વિશે વિગતમાં કારણો Symptom નિદાન ચિકિત્સા ની માહિતી આપી હતી ત્યારબાદ કોલેજના વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ પોતાના પ્રેઝન્ટેશન દ્વારા હાર્ટ રીલેટેડ discussion કરી માહિતી આપી હતી કાર્યક્રમને સફળ સંચાલન કરવામાં કોલેજના રચના શરીર વિભાગના પ્રોફેસરોનો અમૂલ્ય યોગદાન રહ્યું હતું.

Description - We are pleased to announce that the Department of Rachana Sharir (Human Anatomy) at Dr. Vasant Parikh Ayurvedic Medical College, Vadnagar, conducted a cadaveric oath-taking ceremony for our first-year BAMS students. Cadavers are to be treated with the utmost respect, revered as the first silent teachers of medical students. To honor the selfless act of body donation, the tradition of taking a cadaveric oath is essential. This oath is a solemn pledge recited by students, emphasizing their commitment to uphold the dignity and integrity of the human remains they will work with. Undertaking this oath before cadaver dissection serves as an introduction to the fundamental principles of ethics for first-year medical students. It reminds us to acknowledge the mortality of the cadaver and instils a deep sense of appreciation for the invaluable gift of anatomical knowledge bestowed upon us by the donors.
